Earlier this year my cousin Dan's son was christened. It was early in the morning, and you could feel how everything was just at the cusp of spring going into summer. In the days before I crocheted a lot, among other things I made some earrings. But once it was time to pick a dress for the christening I realized I didn't have any matching earrings. Dang it! As it happened, the dress I was going to wear had lots of colors, and lots of geometric shapes. So I picked one, and along with that came the color of the shape, then I went into the stash of embroidery thread that happens to be at my house and found the perfect blue. I finished the earrings and had them blocked and starched within the hour. So this is not a very time consuming project, even less time consuming if you're used to working with slippery yarn (I wasn't!), and a small hook (eek!). A nice and quick make for yourself, or maybe a gift for someone else?
Supplies:
Abbreviations (US terminology): BEG - begin CH - chain SL ST - slip stitch ST - stitch DC - double crochet TR - treble/triple crochet Pattern: Beg: Ch 3, sl st to first ch to make a circle Row 1 Ch 2 (counts as dc) then put dc, tr, ch 1, tr, dc2, ch 1, dc2, tr, ch 1, tr, dc2, ch 1, in the circle, sl st to second ch of ch 2 to join Row 2 Ch 2 (counts as dc), dc in next 2 st, (2dc, tr, ch 1, tr, dc2) in ch 1 sp, dc in next 3 st, (dc ch 1, dc) in next ch 1 space, dc in next 3 st, (2dc, tr, ch 1, tr, 2dc) in next ch 1 sp, dc in next 3 st, (dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch 1 sp, sl st to second ch of ch 2 to join Row 3 Sl st loosely until first ch 1 space, ch 1 and sk ch 1 sp, sl st loosely down to second ch 1 sp, ch 2 and sk ch 1 sp, sl st loosely to next ch 1 sp, ch 1 and sk ch 1 sp, sl st loosely until next ch 1 sp, ch 2 - this is the loop that you will be attaching you hooks in, which you can do before fasting off if you'd like - sl st once more to fasten, then fasten off and weave in all ends. I've yet to try working a magic circle for the beginning instead of the ch 3, but in theory I think it should work just as well, though it might use up a bit more thread/yarn. Anyway, please let me know if you make these, and if anything doesn't add up. I will translate and post the SWE version of this pattern very soon, meanwhile, follow me on instagram and pinterest for more crocheting goofiness. Pretty please tag me if you make 'em - I'd love to see your take on these! Happy crocheting, Jenn

Hi Jenn - thanks so much for sharing this pattern - I have made them a couple of times now and the latest ones I stiffened with a PVA wash and added crystal dangles. I would love to share photos with you.
