Welcome to my corner of the interwebs!
Who am I?
Writer. Reader. Painter. Illustrator. Crocheter. Occasional knitter. Tea drinker. Bread baker. Cat cuddler.
My name is Jenniefer and I am one of those people who can't "stay in my lane" - I'm not even sure what that means.
When I started this page it was to showcase my crochet patterns, and over the years since that time (this was sometime in 2017) my life goals and my passions' have pivoted back into something a lot more similar to what it was 20 years ago. When I was heading into my teens and wanted to study art in Paris.
I did not study art in Paris however, I studied filmmaking in a small Swedish town where I lived in either the snowiest hellhole or the most perfect summer paradise, there was no in between. After finishing school for that I took a little break, and then started studying Comparative literature. Unimpressivly I hold what would qualify as a bachelors degree in both of these things.
By day I work for the municipality of where I live, in the local library as well as running the old cinema. These are both very near and dear to my heart, but it doesn't compete with the love of my otherwise creative pursuits.

The road so far...
After working through one of my greatests fears come to life (not being able to have the full function of my hands) I gave up a lot of my passions. I stopped drawing and painting, I stopped writing by hand, I stopped playing my guitar - to name a few.
The road back to holding a paintbrush had been long and painful, wrought with trauma and fear that I didn't know how to handle. Finally, after almost 8 years of not touching a paintbrush, let alone painting, I let my friends at work convince me to paint a little something. That little something was the spark I needed.
A first step on a journey I never could have imagined myself taking again!

Painting & illustration:
If that doodled elefant on a white paper at work was the catalyst, then what followed was me going on a journey of self discovery again. My medium prior to my illness had been oil paint, but in my little apartment, I didn't have the room or the airflow for something like that. The simplest solution was to order watercolors. I had never learned to use them, or wanted to before, but as I stepped down this new path, I discovered a lot of things about myself I didn't know.
My "doodles" became more with time, even selling some and gifting others to friends and family. In doing that I opened another door, in which a dear friend asked me to illustrate for small children's books she was working on. Something I was flattered and thrilled to try my hand at.

Crocheting & knitting:
After I finished school, and my hands had healed from surgery, I was faced with the fact that I had lost most of my idle "while I watch TV" hobbies. At the same time I started part time work at the local cinema, an old and historic building that offered new movies and amazing sound - but not a crazy amount to do.
Sitting around waiting for people to show up I realized I needed something to do other than reading - and this was when my grandma said "Why don't you try crocheting?" and gave me all her needles. I had crocheted before and always enjoyed it, but this time it was a little different. So much so that I even started using patterns, and eventually making my own pattern. This was a great way to pass time, any kind of time, pretty much anywhere.
It graduated into me wanting to grow a business out of it, but never seeming to have time to create stock. I sold things here and there, but never to the extent I wished or wanted.

Now what?
Life and work takes many strange turns, and it lead me back to this website after all these years. Eager to create and grow something new. So we shall see what more comes from it, what I can make happen through
