After I finished the first few trials of the Ophrys Chunky Hat, and had written up the pattern, I got a cold. I hate having a cold, because it goes straight for the places where my pollen allergies have already worn me thin. It's the same thing every September, and I'm still suffering the after effects. But, during all the sneezing and wheezing, I got my hands on a skein of Falkgarn Karamell that I had at home (seen below in the colorway Nougat). Anyone who knows me, and who's been in a yarn shop with me, know that I avoid all things wool like the plague. And that's not because I don't like squishy yarns in all weight classes of the yarn world, it's because I quite literally break out in hives. It makes that maker life I love so much a little more difficult, and I have to be almost paranoid with what yarn I buy. Falkgarns Karamell is 80% acrylic, and 20% wool. So I was worried, I'll admit it, when I picked up my first skein to use. But, to my surprise, it was fine! Maybe it was because I was battling a cold and my body had better things to do than make me itch anywhere the yarn touched, or maybe it was just-- a yarn miracle. Who knows? But I grabbed my Nougat Karamell, a small tub of ice cream, and watched the first season of Superior Donuts while making this cowl. A truly great way to spend my time being sick, if I do say so myself. Supplies:

Please let me know if you make this cowl, and if anything doesn't add up. I will translate and post the SWE version of this pattern in due time, meanwhile, follow me on instagram and pinterest for more crocheting goofiness. Pretty please tag me if you make it - I'd love to see your wonderful creations!
Happy crocheting, Jenn

Great pattern/stitch! Despite my doing the stitch wrong, I still like it.
